Moving Your Outdoor Items
If you’re about to move home and with summer just around the corner, you may be looking for advice on how to successfully and easily move your outdoor furniture. Outdoor items can be large and awkwardly shaped, not to mention bulky to move from your old home to your new one. However, there are a few steps that you can follow to ensure the relocation of your outdoor items runs smoothly from dismantlement to the rebuild. Read on to find out more.
Dismantle Items Safely
If you have held on to the original instructions, manual or packaging for your garden furniture, ensure to follow the advised dismantling process. If you haven’t, you may be able to obtain dismantling instructions from the Internet. Whatever you do, make sure that you use the correct tools and keep any nuts and bolts secure in a bag or container for the rebuild of the item. The original box, instructions or manual should also include a ‘how to’ guide on rebuilding, so ensure you take this with you to your new home.
Keep All of the Parts Together
A move can be stressful, and from time to time, things can get easily lost. That’s why it’s important, when moving larger items that require dismantling, to attach the pieces together. Either use parcel tape or a large bag and/or box to keep all the parts of the outdoor item together to avoid losing any essential pieces during the move. There’s nothing worse than attempting to put an item back together to find that there are important parts missing.
Use Appropriate Packaging
If parts of the items are delicate, ensure to wrap them safely in either bubble wrap or another material that will safely pad the item during the transit to your new home. There are a number of places where you can obtain quality and durable packing materials, so speak to us for more information.
Dig Out the Instructions Again
Once you’ve relocated your garden furniture, it’ll be time to rebuild it. Use the instructions, if you have them, or get them from the Internet as mentioned before. Follow the instructions clearly, and voila, your outdoor item will be up in no time and ready to be enjoyed again just in time for summer.

What Our Clients Say

‘This is just to thank you and your team for the fantastic service during my move from Crouch End to Bexley. Everything was packed beautifully and the crew who moved me were fantastic, remaining friendly and good-humoured throughout. The piano was successfully moved from the first floor and everything arrived intact. It was really worth having the packing service as well, and my stress levels were kept well under control, so well done!’

‘Excellent company – gave me a really good price and fantastic service. We had the full packing service on the Monday, then they finished packing, and moved us on the Tuesday – on time and on schedule. Kav even had five guys on the job, on the Tuesday morning, which kept us on schedule. No breakages, everything was well packed: highly recommended.
We’ll be moving again in the next year, this time with a piano – we hope to use Pers Removals again!’24th June 2013

‘Three charming chaps arrived to move my piano from Maidenhead to West London. They took time to plan the moving process and communicated well with each other. They had several steps to cope with inside the house, and a few outside. I was expecting the piano to be bumped about – but not at all. Such care was taken – the piano could have been a newborn baby and would have come to no harm! Now that I have found Pers I will definitely use them again.’
