Life Hacks When Moving Home
If you’re planning a move and are reluctantly thinking about packing up all your belongings while dealing with everything else that needs to be done, don’t worry! We’ve come up with some top life hacks that will help you move. Read on to find out more.
Start By Packing Your Wardrobe
If you have lots of clothes or only a few bits and bobs, packing your wardrobe can seem like a daunting task. For example, you may be thinking ‘what will need before the move?’. However, not to worry, all you need to do is stock up on bin bags and place these over your hanging clothes so that they are all grouped together for easy access. Packing this way means that your clothes will be ready to be unpacked as soon as you move in.
Prepare By Taking Photos
If you get the chance to, visit your new home before you move in. When there, take lots of photos of both the interior and exterior of the property. This will help you to decide where you want to put your existing belongings before you move, which can speed up the unpacking process. Consider taking some pictures of your old home so that you can keep a hold of all the memories…
Label Your Chargers and Sockets
With a number of technical items in many households all over the world, the chances are, you have lots of cables and sockets. Make life easier by labeling these so that you know exactly which one is for which device. It will save a lot of annoyance in the long run!
Protect Your Safe Haven – Your Bed
Many will agree that their bed is very important, so to ensure it doesn’t get damaged or dirty during the move, use cheap fitted sheets to cover your mattress. This means that it should stay safe during transit.
Get Rid of Clutter
Many of us don’t realise how much clutter and odds and ends we actually hold on to until it’s time to move home. Moving home is the perfect time to get rid of all the things in your home which you no longer use! Whether it’s old clothes, unnecessary furniture, out of date food, or your child’s baby toys – decluttering will save you hours when you reach your new home; not to mention you will have way more space! If you want to raise some extra cash, you could have a car boot sale. Alternatively, you may want to give your old belongings to charity put them on an auction site online. Otherwise you can simply give them to friends, family or neighbours.

Your move will go extra smooth as long as the movers you use are professional and experience. With a number of years in the moving and storage business, we at Pers Removals are here to help you. Call us to find out more!
What Our Clients Say

‘This is just to thank you and your team for the fantastic service during my move from Crouch End to Bexley. Everything was packed beautifully and the crew who moved me were fantastic, remaining friendly and good-humoured throughout. The piano was successfully moved from the first floor and everything arrived intact. It was really worth having the packing service as well, and my stress levels were kept well under control, so well done!’

‘Excellent company – gave me a really good price and fantastic service. We had the full packing service on the Monday, then they finished packing, and moved us on the Tuesday – on time and on schedule. Kav even had five guys on the job, on the Tuesday morning, which kept us on schedule. No breakages, everything was well packed: highly recommended.
We’ll be moving again in the next year, this time with a piano – we hope to use Pers Removals again!’24th June 2013

‘Three charming chaps arrived to move my piano from Maidenhead to West London. They took time to plan the moving process and communicated well with each other. They had several steps to cope with inside the house, and a few outside. I was expecting the piano to be bumped about – but not at all. Such care was taken – the piano could have been a newborn baby and would have come to no harm! Now that I have found Pers I will definitely use them again.’
