How to Manage Stress When Moving
If you’ve had to move home before, you’ll understand how stressful it can be. However, fear not, because if you move with us at Pers Removals, you’ll be using a company that has years of experience and expertise when it comes to moving home. Let’s take a look at ways in which you can manage your stress levels through the moving process.
Organisation is Key
It’s so important to be organised when it comes to moving home. For a start, keep a note of important dates and information somewhere safe that can be easily accessed throughout the moving process. You’ll want quick and easy access to important contact details dates of importance.
In addition, when it comes to packing, you should ensure that each room is packed in sequence and all boxes are labelled. Labelled boxes will help you when you reach your new home and also assist the movers in knowing where to put the boxes.
Get Rid of Things
Clearing out is an essential aspect of moving home. You’ll feel a huge weight lifted when you get rid of old and unwanted items. A great way to do this is to go into each room and work through all of the contents, eliminating items that you no longer use.
However, avoid throwing things in the bin. You should consider recycling, donating to charity or selling anything you no longer want.
Prioritise Jobs
Write down everything you need to keep on top of to make sure your move stays on track. If you have jobs to complete that are more important or urgent than others, these should take precedence. Mobile phone reminders, a diary and sticky notes throughout the house can be excellent ways to keep you up to date on things you need to do.
Keep a Routine
In order to avoid stress and make things seem as ‘normal’ as possible, try and keep a regular routine. This can include doing things such as going to the cinema, meeting with friends or relaxing with your favourite film. Just try and do things that you would normally do in order to keep some regularity.
Ask for Help
The best way to keep stress to a minimum is to ask for help. Friends and family can be great support when it comes to moving home, so call them up and see if they’ll help you pack and move. Otherwise, you should get in touch with us and find out how we can help you when it comes to moving home.
What Our Clients Say
-
‘This is just to thank you and your team for the fantastic service during my move from Crouch End to Bexley. Everything was packed beautifully and the crew who moved me were fantastic, remaining friendly and good-humoured throughout. The piano was successfully moved from the first floor and everything arrived intact. It was really worth having the packing service as well, and my stress levels were kept well under control, so well done!’

‘Excellent company – gave me a really good price and fantastic service. We had the full packing service on the Monday, then they finished packing, and moved us on the Tuesday – on time and on schedule. Kav even had five guys on the job, on the Tuesday morning, which kept us on schedule. No breakages, everything was well packed: highly recommended.
We’ll be moving again in the next year, this time with a piano – we hope to use Pers Removals again!’24th June 2013

‘Three charming chaps arrived to move my piano from Maidenhead to West London. They took time to plan the moving process and communicated well with each other. They had several steps to cope with inside the house, and a few outside. I was expecting the piano to be bumped about – but not at all. Such care was taken – the piano could have been a newborn baby and would have come to no harm! Now that I have found Pers I will definitely use them again.’
