FAQs
1 – Are you an insured remover?
Yes, we certainly are. We can provide fully comprehensive insurance, from £25,000, for your goods, and both premises, during the course of the move. Our employees are also covered, for up to £20,000,000, to make sure you’re not liable if they get injured while working on your premises.
2 – Is there any insurance excess for clients?
Unlike most removal companies, our insurance cover has zero excess for our clients.
3 – What checks do you do on your staff? Are they experienced when it comes to handling valuable items?
Pers Removals make sure all staff are thoroughly vetted, and we find out exactly what they already know about removals and storage before taking them on.
Employees are interviewed, then fully trained (fragile packing, how to secure items in the van, how to store items safely), and have to pass four exams.
We NEVER use agency or temporary staff.
4 – What vans do you use? Do they meet industry requirements?
All of our vehicles are 100% customised to the industry. They’re made to carry furniture and they have side doors for loading storage containers.
7 – Can you help me pack?
We certainly can. Dependent on your needs, we offer a full packing service, fragile packing service, or an artwork packing service.
If you’d rather pack your own goods, we offer packing materials free of charge: as many boxes as you need, plus packing paper.
8 – Can you undertake moves over the weekend?
Of course. We offer this service for both residential and commercial moves, at no extra cost.
In the case of either type of move, this ensures that there is minimal disruption, as removals take place outside of working hours.
9 – Why are you a ‘specialist’ removals company?
We can undertake any type of move, but have particular skill and experience when it comes to handling antique furniture, valuable artwork, and pianos. We’re not simply lift-and-drag merchants.
We also consider things that many other removal companies don’t, like; using acid-free paper for moving artwork, only storing goods in wooden containers (no condensation), offering a tailor-made service unique to each client/move e.g those with young children, or those with less mobility.
In addition to this, we put our staff through all manner of rigorous tests before they’re deemed ready to work with our customers.
10 – Do I just take your word for that?
Of course not – please take your time to look through our reviews at Removal Reviews, where we have a 5-star rating.
Recent customer surveys have seen 99% of our moves rated ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ and 40% of our work is through repeat customers or recommendation.
We also have a long-standing working relationship with Westminster Cathedral, and have worked with John Lewis, the Czech Ambassador, the Lithuanian Embassy, and Queen Mary University.
Oh, and we’ve lifted over 300 pianos in our time.
11 – With storage, how large are the containers you use?
Each container is 5ft wide x 7ft deep x 8ft high
12 – I’ve heard horror stories of furniture being ruined in storage – how can you protect my goods?
All of our containers are wooden, not metal, which allows for a temperature-controlled environment, with no condensation. The containers are stored in brick buildings and are placed on pallets, six inches off the floor: again, this ensures a dry, humidity-free environment.
What Our Clients Say
-
‘This is just to thank you and your team for the fantastic service during my move from Crouch End to Bexley. Everything was packed beautifully and the crew who moved me were fantastic, remaining friendly and good-humoured throughout. The piano was successfully moved from the first floor and everything arrived intact. It was really worth having the packing service as well, and my stress levels were kept well under control, so well done!’

‘Excellent company – gave me a really good price and fantastic service. We had the full packing service on the Monday, then they finished packing, and moved us on the Tuesday – on time and on schedule. Kav even had five guys on the job, on the Tuesday morning, which kept us on schedule. No breakages, everything was well packed: highly recommended.
We’ll be moving again in the next year, this time with a piano – we hope to use Pers Removals again!’24th June 2013

‘Three charming chaps arrived to move my piano from Maidenhead to West London. They took time to plan the moving process and communicated well with each other. They had several steps to cope with inside the house, and a few outside. I was expecting the piano to be bumped about – but not at all. Such care was taken – the piano could have been a newborn baby and would have come to no harm! Now that I have found Pers I will definitely use them again.’
